Framingham Public Schools Reporting 14th COVID Case in March; 62nd Case in 2020-21 School Year

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Public School district reported its 62nd COVID positive case this 2020-21 school district on March 12.

The latest case was at Dunning Elementary School.

The district also reported yesterday two cases at Framingham High, the second and third cases this week, and a case at Walsh Middle School.

Framingham High School leads the district with 16 total cases this school year.

The district does not state when it reports positive cases if they are a teacher, staff, or a student; however, Friday was a professional development day for the high school with no in person students.

Since January 1, there have been 26 cases in the district.

This is the 14th case in the district in March.

Fuller Middle School is second with 8 cases. King Elementary and BLOCKS are tied for third with five cases each.

This is the fourth COVID-19 case at Dunning Elementary this school year.

The district has been testing staff weekly, and students, via pooled testing.

Phase I & 2 students returned to their classrooms in February.

Phase III students returned to their physical classrooms on February 24. It was the first time in a physical classroom for these students in the 2020-21 school year. They are attending school all five days.

Phase IV students, many who have not physically been in a classroom since March 2020, began on March 3 for cohort B and began on Monday, March 8. for cohort A.
