Mayor Spicer Nominates Schwartz To Framingham Elderly & Disabled Tax Fund Committee

FRAMINGHAM – Mayor Yvonne Spicer has nominated Howard Schwartz to the City of Framingham Elderly & Disabled Tax Fund Committee.

The Committee assists low-income elderly/disabled citizens, who do not qualify for, or who may be incompletely assisted by, other state and local tax relief measures.

The 11-member City Council has 30 days to approve or reject the nomination.

If no action is taken, Schwartz joins the 5-member Committee.

“Schwartz is a lifelong resident of Framingham who served as the president of Temple Beth Am for four years until June 2019. He is a professional tax accountant with experience in preparation of Individual, Trust, Estate and Not-for-Profit tax returns and matters,” wrote the Mayor in her email to the City Council.

Schwartz wrote he is from District 4 on his application to the City of Framingham, but he is a District 3 resident.

The Mayor has nominated him for a 3-year term through June 30, 2023.

By state law, the Committee shall consist of a board of assessors member, the City Treasurer and 3 residents.

The current Committee members are City of Framingham Treasurer Carolyn Lyons, District 5 resident Eric Finn (who also serves on the Veterans Council), District 5 resident Heidi Bryce (who is employed by the City of Framingham), and District 7 resident Elizabeth Fekete, who also serves on the Framingham Board of Assessors.
