Framingham High Drama Company Producing 2 Virtual Plays Next Month

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High School fine & Performing Arts Department Head Chris Brindley is looking forward to the future of the drama department at the high school.

“The students and the teachers miss the rehearsals, the performances, but above all the community. We have been trying our best to teach theatre in this virtual world – it takes a lot of energy to reshape the way we think about performing, but we are in the swing of it now. We have spent a lot of time
this year focusing on the training since production opportunities are far fewer,” said Brindley.

This March we are producing two plays virtually – Almost, Maine and Love/Sick by John Cariani, said Brindley.

“Both of these plays will be streamed. They have been a great chance for us to feature all students in an individual scene,” said Brindley.

“The plays are funny, heartfelt, and examine the condition of the human spirit,” he added.

“We hope the community will come out to support these students in this virtual theatrical endeavor,” said Brindley.

“We hope to create some live, in-person theatre outdoors this late spring.,” he said.

Brindley said that support for his program and others hasn’t gone unnoticed: “The arts are important in Framingham, and that matters. It pushes our students to always be the best that they can be because they love what they do so much.”
