FRAMINGHAM – Mayor Yvonne Spicer issued a video holiday message this week.
“Happy Holidays! This year Christmas, Kwanzaa, and New Year’s will have to be different, and one of the things that we all enjoy during this time is spending time with friends and family, giving hugs, but we know that’s not the thing to do this year,” said the City of Framingham’s Mayor.
“We have to think about ways to keep each other safe and keep our community safe during this holiday time,” said Mayor Spicer.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t give that special thank you to our essential workers, fire and police departments, and healthcare workers. I want to say thank you for keeping Framingham safe! For our city employees who do everything in their power every single day to keep our city functioning and running, it’s critically important to our operations, and I say thank you,” said the Mayor.
“Last but not least, all of our community organizations that provide food, including restaurants, and social service agencies, thank you for keeping Framingham fed! This is an unprecedented time for us. But we will come through this together, and the hope of a vaccine is here, but we still have work to do in our community. We still need to wear face masks, wash our hands, and practice social distancing. If we do this now, next year will be even better for us as a community. Keep giving the gift of love and kindness, also being able to be harmonious and staying together and communicating with our residents and each other via phone, via video chat, these are ways in which we stay connected,” said Mayor Spicer.
