Another Positive COVID Case at Fuller Middle School

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Public School District announced it “became aware a person at Fuller school tested positive for COVID-19,” today, December 4.

“As per district guidelines, comprehensive contact tracing was completed. The people who were identified as close contacts of the person with COVID-19 have been notified and are at home in quarantine. A close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of the person for at least 15 cumulative minutes within 24 hours. If you have not received a phone call from the district, then your child has not been identified as a close contact,” wrote the district to staff and impacted families.

This is the third positive case at Fuller Middle School.

Early this fall, 80% of the maintenance staff had to quarantine, as one of the staff became positive with the virus. The district’s building & grounds staff are housed at Fuller Middle.

Yesterday, the Superintendent announced that all schools would be going remote effective Monday through at least January 4, 2021.

The district has had 21 cases of COVID this school year.

The District also reminded families how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community

• Wear a mask/face covering at all times when outside of your home
• Maintain physical distance of 6 ft when interacting with others in the community
• Practice frequent hand washing/hand sanitizing
• Monitor yourself and your family for the following COVID-19 symptoms daily:
  • Fever of 100.0°F (37.7C) or higher, chills, or shaking chills 
  • Cough (not due to other known cause, such as chronic cough) 
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath 
  • New loss of taste or smell 
  • Sore throat 
  • Headache when in combination with other symptoms 
  • Muscle aches or body aches 
  • Nausea, or vomiting, or diarrhea 
  • Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms 
  • Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms
• If you or your family member(s) experience symptoms or are not feeling well, stay home, contact your healthcare provider, and get a COVID-19 PCR test
