FRAMINGHAM – Reports have a star-studded Netflix project filming in Framingham today, November 12.

Crews are in the Butterworth Park neighborhood establishing shots for the Netflix production Don’t Look Up, which will star Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio

Crews are establishing exterior shots of a blue house for the production.

The movie is a dark comedy, directed by Adam McKay, set to shoot all over Massachusetts, with a star-studded cast.

Other cast members beyond Larence and DiCaprio, include Meryl Steep, Cate Blanchett, singer Ariana Grande, rapper Kid Cudi and Matthew Perry from Friends.

There are no stars in Framingham today, just crew members.

IMDB describes the movie about a “team of scientists who discover an asteroid that is on the path to hit Earth. However, no one takes their warnings of impending doom seriously – even the president.”

The movie was originally scheduled to start filming in April for a December release on Netflix, but it is now set to be released sometime in 2021 on the streaming platform, due to the pandemic, according to IndieWire.

“They were supposed to use my house for the scenes, but I made too many updates to the exterior of my house since March,” said Framingham resident Leslie Fraser. “Happy they are using my neighbor’s house, as they used mine for a movie around 10 years ago. Nice to spread the love around the neighborhood. They rented my porch furniture for this set and brought it to my neighbor’s house.”
