1 Framingham Farmers Market is open today from noon to 5:30 p.m. on the Framingham Centre Common. Cousins Maine lobster truck will also be at the market. Today is the final farmers market for the season.
2. The Framingham Public Library will be hosting The Global Rise of Authoritarian Populism: Trump Style Politics in a Time of Uncertainty tonight at 7. on Zoom. The guest speaker is Joseph Coelho, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Framingham State University present “The Global Rise of Authoritarian Populism: Trump Style Politics in a Time of Uncertainty.” The rise of authoritarian populist forces in recent years presents a new challenge to many long established democracies around the world. What does this mean for the future of the world order established after World War II?

4. For 8 consecutive weeks, the City of Framingham has been a red or high-risk community for the coronavirus. It will likely be 9 consecutive weeks tonight.
The state announced last week that it would extend free testing in the City of Framingham from October 31 to the end of the year. The City has been in high-risk status since the final week of August. Framingham Health Director Sam Wong wants every resident to get tested for the coronavirus.
The drive-thru free COVID testing site at Walsh Middle School is open today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The last day for the Walsh testing site is Halloween.
A new drive-thru site will open at the TJX HQ on Monday.
There is also a free testing site at Amazing Things Arts Center from 3 to 6 p.m. It is walk-up only with limited parking.
5. There is early voting for the November election today. Click here for more details. The election is one week from today on Tuesday, November 3. Yesterday, the City Clerk announced that there would be 24-hour police watching the drop off boxes in the city for ballots, after an arson attempted at a ballot box in Boston over the weekend.
