FRAMINGHAM – For the fifth consecutive week in a row, Framingham is a high-risk or red community for the coronavirus.
For the month of September, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts provided outreach teams who speak multi-languages to distribute multi-language flyers and free masks to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in Framingham.
The City of Framingham is one of six communities out of 351 that the state is providing additional assistance.
On Saturday at 10 a.m., the outreach teams will be back at Seabra foods in District 9 at 10 a.m. and they will also be distributing information to Pelham Apartments and Cochituate Homes in District 9 in the morning.

Saturday afternoon, the outreach teams will be at Butterworth Park in District 7 and distribute literature to Rose Garden Apartments in District 7.
On Sunday, the state’s outreach teams will be at Tesoro Supermarket in downtown Framingham in the morning and will visit several Framingham churches. The City of Framingham and the state did not state which churches.
On Sunday afternoon, the state’s outreach teams will be at Framingham Centre Common from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and distributing literature at Georgetown Apartments on Route 9.
The City has said the increase in cases is coming from Districts 7-8-9 as well as multi-family dwellings.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is also assisting the City of Framingham by providing three free testing sites for the virus.
There is a drive-thru testing site open at Walsh Middle School all month, Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There is a walk-up testing site at Amazing Things Arts Center from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
There is a walk-up testing site at SMOC HQ at 7 Bishop Street on Mondays, Wednesday, & Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m.
