FRAMINGHAM – Since the Massachusetts Department of Public Health designated Framingham a “high risk” community because of a recent uptick in positive cases of COVID-19, the Framingham Heart Study is delaying in-person exams again.
“For participant and staff safety, the restart of in-person exams that was scheduled to begin next week, Monday, August 31st, will be delayed. We will monitor the situation for two weeks before making any further decisions,” announced the heart study today, August 27.
“Televisits will continue to be conducted as they greatly reduce the amount of time needed to complete the remainder of the exam in the FHS Research Center. We appreciate your continued support of this effort,” said the study.
“This pause is a disappointment because we have been working hard to prepare for the return of participants, but we also know it is the right thing to do to keep everyone safe,” said the study.
