FRAMINGHAM – “Unfortunately, the most recent guidelines for youth sports issued by our state and local governing bodies precludes us from continuing with our traditional tackle season. Therefore, we regret to inform you that Baystate Youth Football and Cheer will not have a tackle football or sideline cheer program this fall,” announced the program last night to parents and athletes.
“Framingham Youth Football and Cheerleading Board of Directors have spent countless hours coming together to try to build safe and engaging programs for your children this fall,” said FYFC President Alex Perez, who announced the program will be offering football skills clinics and cheerleading skills clinics.
“These programs will be available soon, we will send out an email once we have dates and times set,” wrote Perez to parents.

“Baystate asks that you continue to support us as your local football and cheerleading organization. Your children and your families safety is our first priority,” wrote Perez Friday night.
“We collectively believe the new guidelines do NOT allow for stunting or tackling because both of which require “deliberate contact. If you decide to look for something else for your children to do this fall, please keep this in mind,” aid Perez speaking for the FYFC Board.
There are some openings still on some of the teams.
