FRAMINGHAM – Today, August 4, The Baker-Polito Administration and Senate President Karen Spilka announced that Framingham was the 17th community added to the Stop the Spread program.
Framingham will have a free, drive-thru testing site at Keefe Technical High School start Wednesday, August 5 through August 14. It is a mouth swab and not a nasal swab test. It is open to all, with or without insurance. Click here for more details.
Framingham’s 14-day average positive test rate increased from 1.82% on July 8 to 3.09% on July 29, according to the state.
The City of Framingham announced 9 residents have tested positive for COVID-19, since Fridaty.
The City said it has 100 active cases of the coronavirus.
There have been a total of 1,818 coronavirus cases in the City of Framingham in 2020.
The good news is 1,597 individuals have recovered.
There have been 121 Framingham individuals have died from the COVID-19 or complications from the virus, since the pandemic began.
In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 38 residents in quarantine.
There are more than 70,000 residents in the City of Framingham.
So more than 2.5% of the city tested positive for the virus.
The City announced in June instead of daily updates on the coronavirus, it will now only provide updates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
