1 The official last day of school for the public school district is June 18.

But today, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. the Framingham Teachers Association will stand out at the Framingham Centre Common to celebrate their students.

“This school year has been full of challenges that no one could have foreseen, and students and educators have had to redefine our school community in ways that we never imagined possible. Let’s come together to celebrate our students and our successes! Join your fellow educators as we say good-bye to the 2019-2020 school year and look forward with hope and perseverance to the challenges yet to come. We’ll hold signs celebrating our Framingham Public Schools community and campaigning for fully funded schools for next year,” posted the FTA.

2. City of Framingham meetings (all meetings will be held remotely unless noted):

• Framingham School Committee: Policy Subcommittee at 4 p.m.
• Framingham City Council: Appointments Subcommittee at 6 p.m.
• Framingham City Council at 7 p.m.

3. This is National Animal Rights Awareness Week.

Started in 1999,  the goal of the designation is to help raise awareness of animal rights by educating the public about the basic needs of animals around the world, and to advocate for the humane and compassionate treatment of all animals. Animal rights awareness extends from our own individual pets to all companion animals, farm animals, wildlife, and animals used for testing, experiments and medical research

4. The Governor has asked any that have been in large gatherings or protests the last two weeks to be tested for COVID-19.

5. According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer has a community zoom call today at 5 p.m.
