Mary (Guido) Basile, born on August 4, 1928, is reunited with her husband of 61 years, Anthony “Tony” Basile (d. 2009), and beloved son Stephen Basile (d.1977), in heaven.
Mary is survived by her children: daughter Karen Basile and grandchildren Anthony and Jacqueline Manolian of Framingham, MA; son Charles Basile and his wife Pamela of Andover, CT; grandchildren Lissa Howe and her husband Gregory Howe and Livia Snow and her husband Mark Snow. Great-grandchildren include Isabella Schrivener, Cody Schrivener, and Carly Basile of Belchertown, MA; and Zachary Howe and Logan Howe of Coventry, CT.
Mary was also the cherished grandmother to Stephanie Basile and her husband Todd Sherman and great-grandmother to Stephen Sherman of Lexington, MA. She leaves a great number of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she held dearly in her heart.
Mary was the daughter of the late Vincenzo Guido and the late Albina (Flora) Guido. She was the last surviving sister of the late Guerino “Goody” Guido; the late Nicholas Guido; the late Mossimino Guido; the late Eugene Guido; the late Celia Romanovich; the late Josephine Pasqualoni; the late Elizabeth Alberta; the late Alma Cimino; the late Jeanne Fitzgibbons and the late Olga DiVittorio.
Mary enjoyed the company of countless family and friends who arrived weekly to visit and spend time with her. A devoted Framingham Public School employee for 20+ years, Mary’s final years were filled with love and care by her devoted family. Her daughter, Karen, along with grandchildren Stephanie, Anthony, and Jacqueline, provided constant support, ensuring Mary was content, comfortable, and surrounded by love at all times. Their unwavering devotion and care are a testament to the strong bond they all shared.
As an active member of Saint Stephen’s Parish, she was a fixture at morning mass. Mary was known for her kindness, warmth, and exceptional cooking. Mary often made homemade cookies, meatballs, or the family favorite, raviolis, which became a staple at family gatherings. These recipes will be cherished for generations.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Mary’s life by gathering for her graveside services on Wednesday morning, February 26th in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fenwick Street, Framingham at 11 o’clock.
