Patricia M. (O’Neil) Landers, 90, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Monday morning December 18, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones, after a period of declining health. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Daniel & Jean (Montague) O’Neil, and the beloved wife of the late James R. Landers.

Patricia grew up in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High and St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Brighton. She enjoyed a lengthy career as an RN at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Cape Cod Hospital, Newton Wellesley Hospital, and over 25 years at Bethany Healthcare as a night supervisor.

A devout catholic, Patricia’s faith was strong. She was a member of St. George Parish in Saxonville where she attended daily mass. She was an avid walker, going for walks up to three times a day often with her husband James trailing behind.

Patricia loved gardening, especially her prized roses. She always remained active from her garden to baking her famous rolls and blueberry bread. She cherished family gatherings and cookouts, and was proud of the fact she had six kids and would tell everyone who would listen.

Patricia is survived by her children, James P., Sean & his wife Carol, Maura Lating, Paul & his wife Lynn, Brendan, and Patricia Mills & her husband John, her grandchildren, Shamus, Megan, Katie, Kristen Deming, Cameron, Kylie, Kelly, Ryan Lating, Julia Mills, Bridget Mills, and Olivia, her siblings, Jerry O’Neil, and Genevieve Cross, her sister in law, Lillian DeBeaucourt, and brother in law, Donald Landers, many nieces and nephews, and her caretaker and friend, Susan Chapman.

Besides her husband James, Patricia was predeceased by her sisters, Ann, Kathleen, and Jeanmarie Kavanaugh, her brother Dan O’Neil, and her daughter in law, Jennifer.

Family and friends will honor and remember Patricia’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Thursday, December 21st from 4-8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning in St. George Church, 74 School St. Saxonville at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Patricia’s name to: Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 15 Mt. Carmel Rd., Danvers, MA 01923, in memory of Sister Miriam of Jesus.
