FRAMINGHAM – David P. Allain, 69, of Ashland, formerly Framingham, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, following a period of deteriorating health.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Dr. Donald and Barbara (Sancomb) Allain and the third of eight children.

David grew up and received his education in Framingham, later earning a Master’s Degree from Framingham State.

He ventured into the painting and construction industry and established his own business, David Allain Painting.

He met and married his beloved wife, Sharon (Smith), and they made Framingham their home to raise their family.

A deeply creative individual, David had a passion for art, particularly impressionism, and loved painting renditions of famous paintings and pictures.

He enjoyed music, playing the drums, and performing as Gizmo the clown for children’s parties, as well as magic tricks and portraying Santa Claus at the former Shoppers World.

A spiritual person at heart, David found joy in gardening and cultivating flowers. He was an avid reader and knowledgeable history enthusiast.

David is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Allain of Marlborough and Meggan Dowd, along with her husband Timothy of Clinton; his cherished grandson, Ronan Dowd; his devoted wife, Sharon of Marlborough; two sisters, Donna Jean (Steve) Wilkinson of Sydney, Australia and Diane Marie (Bob) Ullo of Lunenburg, MA; and three brothers, Jeffrey Roy of Naples, FL, Peter Michael (Renee) of Shrewsbury, MA, and Richard Scott of Framingham, MA. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

David’s creativity, passion, and love for his family will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate David’s life by attending a visitation at the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, located at 11 Lincoln Street, in Framingham, on Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to noon.

  Interment will be held privately.
