BOSTON – Kenyans won both the men’s and women’s 2023 Boston Marathon races today, on a cold, rainy Monday – perfect weather for a marathon.

Defending champion Evans Chebet, 34, of Kenya won the Boston Marathon again in 2:05.54.

His time was the third fastest in race history.

He is the first man to defend his title at Boston since 2008.

Hellen Obiri won the women’s race in 2:21:38. She had to sprint down Bolyston Street to beat Amane Beriso of Ethiopia, who finished second.

SOURCE captured the elite runners around mile 5, near La Cantina ristorante along Route 135, before they reached downtown Framingham.
