FRAMINGHAM \u2013 Ruth \u201cIzzy\u201d I. (Spurr) LeBlanc, age 105, died, Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the comfort and care of her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Round Hill, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Harriet (Whitman) Spurr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late John Daugman and the beloved wife of the late Ronald LeBlanc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth was one of seven children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She came to live in the U.S. at the age of 18 to attend Shepherd Gill School of practical nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She later met and married the Latvian pastor of Ruggles St. Baptist Church, John Daugman. They settled down in Waltham, and had three children. Shortly after the birth of their third child, John died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth devoted her time raising her children and became active at The First Baptist Church in Waltham, where she was a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Woman\u2019s Society.  She then took a geriatric refresher course and returned to the nursing field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth was introduced to her hairdresser\u2019s brother, Ronald LeBlanc and after courtship were married in 1973 and moved to Nashua NH. She became a member of the Nashua Historical Society.  She worked and was a member at the Nashua Senior Activity Center. She loved to paint, sew, quilt, and cook. She entered and won several recipe contests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth was active in the Girl Scouts of the USA for more than 15 years, where she was a lover of nature and the world around her and was the \u201cNature Lady\u201d at camp for many years and became known by the nickname, \u201cIzzy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ron died in 2013 and several years later, she came to reside with her daughter Margaret in Framingham where she loved her backyard garden and the \u201cfree entertainment\u201d provided by the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and turkeys. She was also known to find four-leaf clovers and loved cats and birds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruth is survived by her children, David and Margaret; grandchildren Alex, Michele and Christine; great grandchildren, Adam and his wife, Dominque and Michael and his wife Gabby; and her cherished great-great grandson, Emmet, whom she held in her arms this past December. She is also survived by her brother Bernard Spurr and his wife Lois of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was the mother of the late Esther and sister of the late Lawrence, Ike, Russel, Mary, and June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to celebrate Ruth\u2019s life and share memories on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. at her daughter\u2019s home in Framingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Nashua Senior Activity Center, 70 Temple St, Nashua, NH 03060; www.nashuaseniorcenter.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
