ASHLAND – A discussion on immigrants’ rights will take place Tuesday night, January 10 via Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This virtual event is hosted by the Watertown Free Public Library and a collaboration between several Massachusetts libraries, including the Ashland Public Library with support from the Friends of the Ashland Public Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 14, 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis routed approximately 50 asylum seekers from San Antonio, Texas, to Martha\u2019s Vineyard in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Sarah Sherman-Stokes, associate director of the Immigrants\u2019 Rights & Human Trafficking Clinic at Boston University School of Law, will share the legal implications of DeSantis\u2019s actions and current issues in asylum law and policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
