BOSTON – The Tigers of Newton North easily defeated the Natick High boys track & field team on Thursday, January 5 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton North won 79-21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first event, the Tigers swept the dash to take a 9-0 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second event, the 300-meter race, Natick’s Drew Waldron finished third, but Newton North now had a commanding 17-1 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redhawk Ben Feldman finished second in the 600-meter event, but Tigers now ere ahead 23-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers swept the 1,00-meter event to take a 32-4 lead headed into the mile event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton North finished first & second in the mile, with Nicholas Bianchi third for Natick High.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers had a 40-5 lead, as the field events began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Redhawks were strong in the long and high jump events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yan De la Rose finished first in the high jump at 5-feet, 4 inches with Finn Rabbett second at 5 feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dylan Weddle finished first in the long jump at 20-feet, 1 inch. Drew Waldron was second for Natick High<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was 46-17 after those two events, and that was the closest Natick would get to the Tigers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the shot put event, the Tigers swept and took a 55-17 lead in the meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emerson Davis finished second in the hurdles for Natick. His time was 9.01 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton North won both relay events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacob Tobin finished third in the 2-mile and final event of the meet. His time was 10:19.45 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
