Campbell announced that Pat Moore will be appointed to be the First Assistant Attorney General, responsible for helping to manage the legal work of the office and ensuring that the Attorney General is able to serve and protect the people of Massachusetts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI first met Pat when we worked together as attorneys for Governor Deval Patrick. He was and continues to be an exceptional lawyer with a deep sense of public service, integrity, morality, and humility, and will be a thoughtful, effective and innovative first assistant as the office works to protect our residents and the Commonwealth,\u201d said Attorney General-Elect Andrea J. Campbell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m elated to be joining the Attorney General-Elect\u2019s team and to work with the incredible talent in the Attorney General\u2019s Office to make the Commonwealth a better and fairer place to live and work. Together, we will build upon the Office\u2019s tradition of excellence,\u201d said Pat Moore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59945&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moore comes to AG-Elect Campbell\u2019s office with considerable government and public law experience. He currently is co-chair of the Government &amp; Election Law Group and a partner in the Litigation Group at Hemenway &amp; Barnes, LLP, where he represents public entities and municipalities, as well as public officials and candidates for office at all levels of government.&nbsp; Moore also teaches State Constitutional Law at Boston College Law School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before joining Hemenway &amp; Barnes, Moore was an Associate Counsel and Advisor for Presidential Personnel at the White House in the administration of President Barack Obama. He also has served as Deputy Counsel to the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, under Governor Deval L. Patrick and Governor Charles D. Baker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59948&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPat is one of the most talented lawyers and effective partners with whom I\u2019ve ever worked. I know from experience that he will bring excellent counsel, thoughtfulness, and sound judgment to the Attorney General\u2019s Office. He will be practical and principled on issues big and small,\u201d said Dana Remus, former White House Counsel for President Joseph R. Biden and General Counsel to the Biden for President Campaign, where Moore was Deputy General Counsel.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPat will be a terrific First Assistant. He has just the right experience, disposition, and passion for public service,\u201d said Kate Cook, current First Assistant Attorney General, and former Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Deval L. Patrick, for whom Moore worked as a Deputy Counsel.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the start of his legal career, Moore practiced for several years at Ropes &amp; Gray LLP, a period that included a fellowship in the Government Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General\u2019s Office. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and to the Honorable Robert J.
