FRAMINGHAM – Less than two year with the City of Framingham, the Community Health Coordinator has left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today was Kimberly Rivas’ last day with the Framingham Health Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hired in March 2021, she chaired the City of Framingham’s Age & Dementia Friendly Coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Working with you all over the last (almost) 2 years has been a great experience. The work being done in Framingham is so important and I truly hope you all continue to push forward,” wrote Rivas to members of the Coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AARP accepted the City of Framingham into the age-friendly network in October of 2021<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Charlie Sisitsky recently hired William Murphy, who has been the Director of Public Health in Sudbury <\/a><\/strong>since September 2014, to be Framingham’s new Health Director. Murphy was the health agent for the Town of Wayland for three years from September 2011-2014. The City Council unanimously approved his 3-year appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murphy replaces former Health Director Alex DePalo who resigned earlier this year to head up a food pantry.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 2022, the City of Framingham promoted its Chief Environmental Health Officer Robin Williams to become the new Assistant Health Director.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City has yet to replace the City’s Public Health Nurse, who retired earlier this year.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christopher Delude, the City’s Community Health Manager, is expected to worked with the Coalition until a new person is hired to replace Rivas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
