There are several conversations happening behind the&nbsp;scenes as to what that might look like &#8211; but this is the usual time where we would open Transportation requests for next year,&#8221; said the public school district in a message to families this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need bus transportation for the 2020 &#8211; 2021 school year, families are asked to submit requests online using Aspen X2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for transportation sign-up is June 18, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59945&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transportation requests received after the deadline may not be processed until after the start of the school year, said the public school district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online registration will require your child\u2019s LASID number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a fee for bus transportation &#8211; $250 per child and $500 cap per family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;70106&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rider Eligibility<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Grade K &#8211; 5<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Students in grades&nbsp;<strong>K \u2013 5<\/strong>&nbsp;who live&nbsp;<strong>outside the 2 mile<\/strong>&nbsp;limit of their assigned school,&nbsp;<strong>will be automatically assigned<\/strong>&nbsp;a bus stop close to their residential address. There is no fee.<\/li><li>Students in grades&nbsp;<strong>K \u2013 5,&nbsp;<\/strong>who live&nbsp;<strong>between 1 &#8211; 2 miles<\/strong>&nbsp;of their assigned school&nbsp;<strong>must submit a transportation request<\/strong>. (Seats will be offered based on availability). If requested and approved, a transportation fee will apply or will be waived if the student qualifies for free\/reduced lunch.<\/li><li><strong>Transportation is not provided<\/strong>&nbsp;to students who live&nbsp;<strong>within 1 mile&nbsp;<\/strong>of their assigned school; consideration may be made if a student has to cross a major road such as Route 9. If requested and approved, a transportation fee will apply or will be waived if the student qualifies for free\/reduced lunch.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Grade 6<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Students in grade&nbsp;<strong>6<\/strong>&nbsp;who live&nbsp;<strong>outside the 2 mile<\/strong>&nbsp;limit of their assigned school&nbsp;<strong>must submit a transportation request&nbsp;<\/strong>as outlined below. There is no fee.<\/li><li>Students in grade&nbsp;<strong>6<\/strong>&nbsp;who live&nbsp;<strong>between 1 &#8211; 2 miles<\/strong>&nbsp;of their assigned school&nbsp;<strong>must submit a transportation request.<\/strong>&nbsp;(Seats will be offered based on availability). If requested and approved, a transportation fee will apply or will be waived if the student qualifies for free\/reduced lunch.<\/li><li>Second Priority: Students in grades&nbsp;<strong>7<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;\u2013 12<\/strong>&nbsp;who live&nbsp;<strong>between 1 &#8211; 2 miles<\/strong>&nbsp;of their assigned school,&nbsp;<strong>must submit a transportation request.&nbsp;<\/strong>(Seats will be offered based on availability). If requested and approved, a transportation fee will apply or will be waived if the student qualifies for free\/reduced lunch.<\/li><li>Third Priority:&nbsp;<strong>Transportation is not provided<\/strong>&nbsp;to students who live&nbsp;<strong>within 1 mile&nbsp;<\/strong>of their assigned school; consideration may be made if a student has to cross a major road such as Route 9. If requested and approved, a transportation fee will apply or will be waived if the student qualifies for free\/reduced lunch.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ineligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who are ineligible for bus transportation are not guaranteed transportation. Approval of transportation requests for ineligible student riders will be based on space availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Students in Grades K-6 living less than 2 miles from their assigned school<\/li><li>All students in Grades 7-12<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To determine transportation eligibility for students in grades K-6, please refer to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.framingham.k12.ma.us\/Page\/2726\"><em>Ineligible Street Listing<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are considered ineligible for transportation, you can still request transportation and if approved based on availability, you must pay the Transportation Fee or qualify for the fee waiver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read about the Transportation Fees&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.framingham.k12.ma.us\/Page\/6718\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a>.&nbsp;Requests will be reviewed in the following priority order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First: Those living&nbsp;<strong>outside the 2 mile<\/strong>&nbsp;limit of their assigned school<\/li><li>Second: Those living&nbsp;<strong>between 1 &#8211; 2 miles<\/strong>&nbsp;of their assigned school<\/li><li>Third: Those living&nbsp;<strong>within 1 mile&nbsp;<\/strong>of their assigned school<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;For students who attend McAuliffe Charter School and any of the private or parochial schools; please contact the school your student will be attending to sign up for transportation,&#8221; said the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Framingham Public School buses are equipped to monitor bus activity with the use of audio and visual recordings.
