In 1957, Fred graduated from Boston College with a degree in Economics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After college, Fred joined the Navy and served aboard the icebreaker U.S.S. Glacier and traveled to the Arctic and Antarctic. Here Fred obtained the rank of First Lieutenant. He then met and married his wife, Frances in 1964. They would have four children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For five decades they called Bethesda, Maryland home. In 1967, Fred was hired by the Central Intelligence Agency as an Economic Analyst. WIth this position, and later with his second career with the State Department, Fred traveled to over forty countries, including Vietnam, India, Afghanistan, Hong Kong &amp; Yemen. In the 1970\u2019s Fred received a Masters Degree in Economics from American University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the years Fred was a devoted father, and in more recent years followed along with pride the accomplishments of his grandchildren. In his retirement, he enjoyed vacations and visits with his grandchildren. Fred was a parishioner for over 43 years at St. Bartholomew\u2019s Catholic Church in Bethesda, Maryland. Fred loved golf and Jazz. He was an avid sports fan, especially of his hometown Boston sports teams. He followed many Patriots, Red Sox, and Boston College team statistics and players throughout the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fred died peacefully at his home on Sept. 2, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson\u2019s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances Denier Ablondi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides his wife, Fred is survived by his sister Pauline Guigli and brother Robert Ablondi, both of Framingham, Massachusetts, and his four children and their spouses, Fred Jr.(Susan), David (Rachel), Steven (Heather) and Melissa, and fourteen grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Services to honor Fred\u2019s life will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew\u2019s Catholic Church in Bethesda, Maryland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;66385&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;63788&#8243;] [broadstreet zone=&#8221;66384&#8243;] FRAMINGHAM &#8211; Frederick Richard Ablondi was born on April 24, 1935 in Framingham, Massachusetts to Achille and Josephine Ablondi at the family\u2019s home.
