FRAMINGHAM – Voters in Framingham will have a new Precinct number for the September 6 and November 1 election in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Framingham still has 9 Districts but the City of Framingham increased from 18 to 27 Precincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The change was due to the 2020 Census. The City of Framingham increased in population,<\/a><\/strong> and due to that the City had to increase its number of Precincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

District 9 is now Precincts 1, 2, and 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

District 8 is now Precinct 4, 5, and 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

District 7 is now Precincts 12, 13, and 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

District 6 is now 7, 8, and 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precinct 5 is now 10, 11, and 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precinct 4 is now 16, 17, & 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precinct 3 is now 19, 20, & 21<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precinct 2 is now 25, 26, & 27<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precinct 1 is nw 22, 23, & 24<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This change in Precincts and even some Precincts lines will have an impact on the September 6, 2022, primary election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts created new House of Representative and Senate districts due to redistricting, as well in 2021<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 6, voters in the City of Framingham will vote for a new 6th Middlesex District state representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former 6th Middlesex District was a 100% Framingham District representing former City of Framingham Precincts Precincts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 15.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Former 6th Middlesex District State Representative Maria Robinson was moved into the newly-designed 7th Middlesex District with Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robinson recently resigned to take a position with the Biden administration.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Lewis’ 7th Middlesex District is different than the one he currently represents in the City of Framingham. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His new district still includes the entire Town of Ashland but now it includes parts of Precinct 9 and Precincts 17-18-19-20-24-25-26, & 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That means the new 6th Middlesex District is incumbent free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new 6th Middlesex District now includes Precincts 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 and small portion of Precinct 9, plus Precincts 10-11-12-13-14-15-16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are three Democrats seeking that seat – Dhruba Sen, Margareth Shepard, & Priscila Sousa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are no Republican candidates in the race, so whomever wins on September 6, baring a successful write-in campaign, would win the seat on November 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents in Precincts 22 & 23 and part of Precinct 21, will now be represented by Rep. Danielle Gregoire, who is the state representative for the 4th Middlesex District. She is a Democrat from Marlborough, who has held that seat since 2013. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

[broadstreet zone=”59945″]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She used to represent parts of Westborough and Northborough with most of Marlborough. Now the 4th Middlesex District seat is most of the City of Marlborough and a small portion of Framingham, mainly the Nobscot neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of Precinct 21, in District 3, is now part of a new Worcester District seat along with Westborough, Northborough, and Southborough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saxonville right now is represented by Rep. Carmine Genrile (D-Sudbury), but with the September 6 election they will vote to elect a candidate from the 7th Middlesex District – which is Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis, who is running unopposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
