FRAMINGHAM – The executive assistant to the 11-member Framingham City council is leaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maureen McKeon’s last day is July 5, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It has been an honor to serve the City. I\u2019ve learned so much and have forged some great friendships. I\u2019m thankful to have had the opportunity to meet and work with each of you,” she wrote to City staff on Friday morning July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McKeon, who came to Framingham from the Town of Stow, was interviewed by the City Council in November 2021 and hired the same year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McKeon is the second assistant to leave since Framingham became a City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeanette M. Galliardt, who was an executive assistant to the last Board of Selectmen, and the first-ever Framingham City Council executive assistant, retired in August 2020.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per the last job posting, the Executive Assistant to the Framingham City Council:<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u2022 Prepares a variety of materials for the City Council, including composing memos and correspondence, responses to questionnaires, resolutions, proclamations, certificates of appreciation and other documents.
\u2022 Assists members of the public with inquiries regarding the City Council and other public agencies, both in person and on the telephone, utilizing considerable independent tact and judgment disseminating information.
\u2022 Maintains meeting Calendar and room schedule for Council and Sub Committee meetings.
\u2022 Assembles background packages of information for distribution to the City Councilor\u2019s and Sub Committee members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Responsible for assuring the department\u2019s compliance with the Public Records and Open Meeting Laws.
\u2022 Coordinates posting of all legal notices, agendas, and publications as required.
\u2022 Processes all mail for the City Council and maintains an office filing system for the City Council Office.
\u2022 Prepares meeting agendas and minutes in agenda management software for all Council, ad hoc and Subcommittee meetings
\u2022 Maintains a filing system for the City Council and legislative matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position is part of the City Clerk’s staff and report to the City Clerk and the City Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, the position was posted with an hour rate of $22 to $30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
