{"id":6783,"date":"2020-04-22T17:15:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-22T21:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/?p=6783"},"modified":"2020-04-23T06:20:15","modified_gmt":"2020-04-23T10:20:15","slug":"city-announces-financial-assistance-for-mortgage-rent-payments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2020\/04\/22\/city-announces-financial-assistance-for-mortgage-rent-payments\/","title":{"rendered":"City Announces Financial Assistance for Mortgage &#038; Rent Payments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;51611&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FRAMINGHAM &#8211; the City of Framingham announced this evening, April 22 it has established a temporary financial assistance program for those impacted by COVID-19: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the pandemic, the City of Framingham will provide relief of rent, mortgage, and\/or utility payments for two months to alleviate the burden for households that have lost their employment and primary income as of March 10, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59983&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using Community Development Block Grant allocations and additional funding provided by Congress through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the city created the program for residents who meet requirements through the provision of information requested on<br>the below checklist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Program Goal:<br>\u2022 To alleviate financial pressure for households experiencing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic<br>\u2022 To provide greater economic security to homeowners and rental property owners<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Application Checklist<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For Renters:<br>\u2022 Applicants and\/or co-applicants must have been employed prior to the pandemic and was\/were laid off or terminated as a result<br>\u25aa Proof letter from employer showing termination and eight weeks of pay stubs for the period prior to hardship onset<br>\u25aa Copy of lease agreement or letter from property owner stating the rent<br>\u25aa Evidence of good standing with owner and not subject to an eviction for failure to pay rent prior to pandemic<\/li><li>For Property Owners:<br>\u2022 Applicant and\/or co-applicant must have been employed prior to the pandemic and was\/were laid off or terminated as a result<br>o Proof letter from employer showing termination and eight weeks of pay stubs for the period prior to hardship onset<br>o Notification from lender that property owner does not qualify for a mortgage forbearance or suspension<br>\u2022 Mortgage statement showing the amount of principal and interest<br>\u2022 Verification of good standing with payments on mortgage<\/li><li>Financial Institution Account Information:<br>\u2022 Copies of checking account statements for the last six (6) months<br>\u2022 Most recent statement of saving account(s), IRA, stocks\/bonds, annuities, CDs, mutual funds,<br>money market accounts, etc.<\/li><li>Proof of Identification for All Applicants and Co\u2010 Applicants:<br>o Driver\u2019s License\/State ID o Social Security Card o Birth Certificate and\/or Immigrant Status (i.e. Green Card, Naturalization Certificate or US Passport)<\/li><li>Housing Expenses:<br>\u2022 Provide copies of most recent statement(s):<br>_Mortgage or _Rent _Water\/Sewer _Gas _Oil _Electric<br>\u2022 The program does not pay taxes or arrearages, i.e. past due payments or debts of rent, mortgage or utilities.
