ASHLAND – Superintendent of School Jim Adams announced three finalists for Mindess Elementary School Principal tonight, March 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ashland Superintendent called them “three strong candidates.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two of the three have ties to Framingham Public Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finalists are Roy Demetri Sermons, Ed. D., Franklin Rothwell II, Ph. D, and Purnima DeMorais, MPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sermons is currently the Nathanael Greene Middle School principal for Providence Public Schools. Most recently, he served as a principal for Richmond City Schools in Virginia and Eastside Charter School in Delaware.

Rothwell is in his 11th year as the Brophy Elementary School principal for Framingham Public Schools. He is also an adjunct professor for Fitchburg State University. Previously, he served as the Framingham High School vice-principal for six years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DeMorais has over 25 years of experience working as an educator and administrator, as well as the founder of a school. Currently, she serves as the North Street School principal for Tewksbury Public Schools while also pursuing a doctorate degree in Leadership in Urban Education from the University of Massachusetts – Boston. Previously she was the Principal at Harmony Grove Elementary School in Framingham.<\/a><\/strong>

Between March 21-23, the candidates will meet with faculty, staff, and administrators and tour the Mindess School. The community is also invited to meet the finalists at the Mindess Library on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
