FRAMINGHAM – The Danforth Art Museum will hold an artists talk with Dan Dowd on Sunday, January 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this in-person talk attendees will learn how Dowd’s found treasures become works of art! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“His reverence for the object and ability to transform what might be considered beyond use into personal \u201cportraits\u201d skillfully illustrates the idea that one person\u2019s trash is another person\u2019s treasure,” said the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist talk is at 3 p.m. Museum admission is required to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Found and Gifted\u00a0<\/em>explores the role of the artist in relation to found objects, their presence and process, and the conversion of the object into a work of art, said the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibit opened in 2021 and will close in March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Including galvanized washtubs, rubber, wool, velvet, and other found objects, Dan Dowd\u2019s reverence for the object and his ability to transform what might be considered beyond use into personal \u201cportraits\u201d skillfully illustrates the idea that one person\u2019s trash is another person\u2019s treasure,” said the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museum which is part of Framingham State University is located at 14 Vernon Street, across from the Framingham Centre Common.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
