In 2020 the Department responded to 2,823 EMS calls, 2,010\u00a0fire\u00a0calls.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appointed by the Select Board and under the administrative oversight of the Town Administrator, the&nbsp;Fire&nbsp;Chief serves as a key member of the Town\u2019s management team. Advanced degrees in&nbsp;Fire&nbsp;Science, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Homeland Security, Business or Public Administration are preferred. It is also preferred that candidates have completed the National&nbsp;Fire&nbsp;Academy\u2019s Executive&nbsp;Fire&nbsp;Officer Program.
