FRAMINGHAM – Caesar P. \u201cAl\u201d Lopes, Jr., 95, a longtime resident of Framingham died Wednesday, January 12, 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Caesar & Mary (Fortes) Lopes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caesar was raised and educated in Cambridge, and like so many of his era he proudly served his country during WWII in the US Coast Guard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the war, he began a long career with the USPS working in elevator maintenance primarily at the South Postal Annex in Boston.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0In his \u201cretirement\u201d he worked as a doorman at the Marriott in Boston, and later worked at Walmart well into his 90\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a larger than life personality, Caesar enjoyed people and was kind to everyone he met.  He loved music, dancing, and enjoyed a good movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caesar is survived by his son, Cory D. Lopes & his wife Natalie of Douglas, his grandchildren, Taylor and Tristan, his former wife Louise \u201cLou\u201d (Cole) Lopes, and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family and friends will honor and remember Caesar\u2019s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Thursday morning, January 20\u00a0from 8:30-10:30 AM.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Funeral Mass will follow in St. Stephen Church, 821 Concord St. Framingham at 11 o\u2019clock.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interment will follow in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In lieu of flowers, donations should be considered in Caesar\u2019s name to the charity of your choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
