Why? Because exercise is good for you AND you\u2019ll be helping people who don\u2019t have enough to eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Your new year\u2019s resolution to get fit doesn\u2019t mean you have to run a marathon; you just need to be committed! Start 2022 off right with the United Way of Tri-County\u2019s Heart of Hunger Winter Fitness Challenge. This is a great activity to do with family and friends and is suitable for all ages!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funds raised from the registration fee will support United Way of Tri-County\u2019s three food pantries and two hot meal programs located in Framingham, Marlborough, and Clinton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One hundred percent of of the $15 registration fee will support the food program of your choice. T-shirts are available for purchase and a portion of t-shirt sales also helps those who need access to healthy, nutritious food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;58610&#8243;]<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Progress is tracked via online leaderboards by participants who enter their distance. While there are no prizes for fastest times, all participants who enter their mile(s) each day in February will be entered into a raffle for some great prizes, and the farther you go, the more raffle chances you receive! Raffle prizes vary and will be posted on the event website soon at uwotc.org\/heart .<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur 2021 Heart of Hunger challenge was so well received last year we knew we had to do it again,\u201d said Sandra Baldi, United Way of Tri-County Special Events Manager. \u201cIn winter, it\u2019s so easy to justify not going for a walk or run, but knowing there are people out there counting on you is very motivating, not to mention how good moving is for our own health and mental wellness, and who doesn\u2019t need a little post-holiday endorphin boost right about now?\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To register or sponsor the event, please visit the United Way\u2019s website at uwotc.org\/heart.<br><br>The United Way of Tri-County is a community building organization that brings people together to care for<br>one another.
