The following is a press release issued by the City of Framingham today, Dec. 23<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FRAMINGHAM – Yesterday, the Framingham Health Department released the number of new COVID-19 cases \u2013 430 \u2013 and announced three new fatalities related to the virus since December 15. <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The data report, also distributed by the Health Department yesterday, shows the age group most affected by this surge is 0-19 years, with 306 new cases in the last 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like the rest of the State, Framingham is in a surge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With School Vacation, there are several planned sporting and social events. The Framingham Health Department reminds residents to be aware that indoor events are high-risk environments for transmitting COVID-19, particularly when transmission rates are high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents should know that if they become positive for COVID-19 or are identified as a close contact, they will need to complete isolation or quarantine, including missed school days after the school vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Framingham Health Department continues to remind people to follow the best practices against COVID-19, especially for those enjoying indoor gatherings, celebrating the holidays, or participating in sporting or other social events:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Get tested if you believe you’ve been exposed
\u2022 Social Distance
\u2022 Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces and
