{"id":50517,"date":"2021-09-21T18:07:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-21T22:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/?p=50517"},"modified":"2021-09-22T12:08:21","modified_gmt":"2021-09-22T16:08:21","slug":"less-than-30-of-keefe-tech-students-meet-or-exceed-mcas-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/09\/21\/less-than-30-of-keefe-tech-students-meet-or-exceed-mcas-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"Less Than 30% of Keefe Tech Students Meet or Exceed MCAS Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;53230&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FRAMINGHAM &#8211; The Commonwealth of Massachusetts released MCAS scores for school districts and regional high schools today, September 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>South Middlesex Regional Vocational Technical High School, known as Keefe Tech, had 28% of its students meet or exceed the standard for English, a drop of 12% since 2019 MCAS results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just 22% of Keefe Tech students met or exceed the standard for Math, a drop of 4% since 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across the Commonwealth, MCAS scores dropped in many districts and regional high schools due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No MCAS were administered in 2020, due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;54526&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results released today were tests administered in spring 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students need to pass the MCAS exam in high school in order to graduate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keefe Tech is a regional vocation high school. Students study a discipline like culinary, automotive, or dental assistant as well as academics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 50% of the students at Keefe Tech are from Framingham.
