FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham bridge over the MBTA tracks neat the intersection of Waverley & Winter streets in Framingham will be dedicated to the late Airforce Veteran Deanna Richards on Saturday, September 18 at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Airman Richards died unexpectedly on January 20, 2017, while training with the 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico. She was 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSenior Airman Deanna Richards will always be remembered for her loving and loveable personality and her ability to bring a smile to everyone\u2019s face through her contagious sense of humor,\u201d said Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis, who spearheaded the bridge re-naming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe dedication of the Winter Street Bridge in honor of her will serve as a lasting sign of gratitude to all who have served our country.  May her memory inspire other young people to follow her example of service,” said Rep. Lewis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Framingham, Deanna lived with her family in Ashland. A graduate of Ashland  High School, she graduating from Suffolk University in 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She soon joined the US Air Force.  After completing basic training, she was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico until serving overseas in Kuwait.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon returning to Cannon Air Force Base, Deanna served as the operations management journeyman in the Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She enjoyed jogging around Cushing Park, and worked at Brookdale Cushing Park Senior Living, according to a press release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public is invited to attend the ceremony on Saturday at 1 p.m. Meet at the Keefe Technical High School, parking lot at Southwest Corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
