FRAMINGHAM – The Town of Natick grew by more than 12% over the last decade, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, which release new data from the 2020 census earlier this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2010, the Town of Natick had a population of 33,006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, the Town of Natick had a population of 37,006, a growth of exactly 4,000 individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Town of Natick exceeded the Census Bureau’s 2019 estimate which was 36,050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, the Commonwealth saw a modest increase in population to 7.03 millions people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2020 census took place during the pandemic. Some demographic experts have said that may have impacted the counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One other issue demographers have noted is that many individuals chose to check the “multi” race box this time around, more than in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natick’s white population decreased slightly due to that fact from 28,189 to 27,185. Whites are still the majority in Natick at more than 75%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multi population increase from 588 to 1,581.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nationally, the Asian population exploded followed by a huge jump in the Latino population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natick’s Asian population almost doubled from 2,375 to 4,431. That increase was 86%<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natick’s Latino population almost doubled 994 to 1,762<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Asian population is about 12% of Natick, followed by Latino at about 5% and Black population at 2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
