FRAMINGHAM \u2013 The City of Framingham today, July 28, announced 35 new COVID-19 case since last Wednesday, July 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

last week, the City reported 17 news cases. Two weeks ago, just 3 new cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Framingham said it noew has 43 active cases up from 18 active cases last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Late May, the City said it had more than 1,500 active cases, before SOURCE questioned the City’s numbers.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the pandemic began in 2020, there have been 250 deaths in the City of Framingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Framingham has had a total of 8,414 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Framingham has about 74,500 residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That means more than 11% of the City has been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the pandemic began in March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, the City of Framingham had 36 individuals in quarantine, up from 18 last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Framingham is now reporting 8, 121 individuals have recovered<\/a><\/strong> from the coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Framingham Interim Health Director Alex DePalo told SOURCE \u201ccases are moved into a Recovered status when the individual has completed isolation and is not experiencing any COVID symptoms (including fever without a fever-reducing medication).  Isolation is a minimum of 10 days however it can be longer if symptoms persist or if the individual becomes severely ill.  It is a case by case determination.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of April 19, the general public, age 16 and older became eligible for the vaccine.<\/a> The FDA & the CDC have approved Pfizer’s vaccine for individuals age 12 and older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is hosting a free COVID-19 testing site, run by Project Beacon. The site is located at 123 Maple Street in a parking lot owned by Framingham State University.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That site is also providing FREE COVID-19 vaccinations at the Framingham State University’s Maple Street parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
