FRAMINGHAM – 1854 Cycling, an innovative electric bicycle manufacturer based in Framingham, recently launched its flagship product to help first responders serve communities better in the form of a powerful electric bicycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1854 Cycling aims for the bike to assist first responders in four tactical scenarios, including search and rescue missions and school safety threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bicycle is fully integrated with similar communication technologies available in traditional first responder vehicles, with a paired drone to allow first responders to assess a situation without putting themselves or their colleagues in harm\u2019s way. The bike is equipped with a touchscreen console, visual dispatch, geo-tracking and route mapping, and a mounted identification scanner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Drone can be maneuvered using its AI powered software or can be piloted manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The technology can autonomously survey, hone in on points of interest and report back to the bicycle via a live video feed. The drone and software were developed jointly with the U.S. Air Force to save lives and enhance community policing capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working in tandem with the Wareham Fire and Police Departments, 1854 Cycling is sending out its innovative technology on a test drive beginning at nine in the morning of Friday July 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This partnership is only the first of many more to come, using cutting edge technology to help first responders serve their communities better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2016, 1854 combines classic design, inspired by our past, with cutting edge technology to bring communities closer together. 1854 Cycling takes its name from the abolitionist movement led by Sojourner Truth who protested the Fugitive Slave Act in the same year. They look to break the multi-generational cycle of poverty and incarceration by providing training, day care, and living wages to formerly incarcerated women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
