Updated with statement from 2Life Communities on March 28.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;52093&#8243;]<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FRAMINGHAM &#8211; A resident of the Morton and Etta&nbsp;Shillman<em> <\/em>House&nbsp;on the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg campus in the Nobscot section of Framingham has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to residents of the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents of the senior-living building contacted SOURCE media to say they were told of the positive test today, Friday, March 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This is unsettling news for all of us, and our thoughts are with the resident and their family as we continue to do all we can to support them,&#8221; said  Jan E. Goldstein, speaking on behalf of 2Life Communities, which owns the Shillman House in Framingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Shillman House is 150 apartments for residents aged 62 or older. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;53820&#8243;]<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have shared this news within our community in the interest of full transparency and so our residents and staff can make the most informed decisions about their own health The individual is receiving medical treatment in a hospital. Out of respect for their privacy, we are unable to share additional details,&#8221; said Goldstein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;At 2Life Communities, we follow CDC and Mass Department of Public Health guidelines, taking all precautions to keep our residents safe including social distancing, elimination of communal dining and activities that brought people together, regular disinfecting, and restricting access at our communities to residents and essential staff only,&#8221; added Goldstein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The City of Framingham has not been alerting the public to locations of positive tests, even if it involves public spaces like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/25\/framingham-dunkin-customer-tests-positive-for-covid-19\/\">Dunkin&#8217;<\/a><\/strong> or <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/19\/shoppers-world-employee-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-march-19\/\">Nordstrom Rack.<\/a><\/strong> The City has been citing privacy concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The resident, who tested positive for COVID-19, has been hospitalized<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"305\" src=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/vision.camera.lens_.source.house_.ad_.2019-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/vision.camera.lens_.source.house_.ad_.2019-scaled-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/vision.camera.lens_.source.house_.ad_.2019-scaled-1-300x89.jpg 300w, https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/vision.camera.lens_.source.house_.ad_.2019-scaled-1-768x229.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Editor&#8217;s Note: First posted on March 27.
