FRAMINGHAM – City of Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer has re-nominated two District 1 residents to the Framingham Cultural Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Spicer nominated Cindy Walsh, a designer, who has served on the Cultural Council for two years. She is currently the Council’s treasurer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spicer also re-nominated Lois Levick, who has served on the Framingham Cultural Council for four years and developed the Council’s Student Art Competition. She worked as HP Marketing Director and the director of SOAR (Service Opportunities After Reaching 55), a placement service for not-for-profit organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nominations were made on June 4, and the 11-member City Council has 30 days to approve or reject the nominations. If no action is taken by the City’s legislative branch, the appointments are automatic. Both appointments are for 3-years through June 30, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Framingham Cultural Council awards grants to private and public\/municipal organizations, and individuals for cultural projects that benefit Framingham residents. The Council is responsible for making the final decisions on how to best serve the cultural needs of
Framingham in selecting grant recipients and the amount of each grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
