{"id":40249,"date":"2021-06-09T14:38:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T18:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/?p=40249"},"modified":"2021-06-09T16:20:38","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T20:20:38","slug":"city-of-framingham-reports-250th-covid-death-1166-individuals-moved-to-recovered-status-in-last-2-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/09\/city-of-framingham-reports-250th-covid-death-1166-individuals-moved-to-recovered-status-in-last-2-weeks\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Framingham Reports 250th COVID Death; 1,166 Individuals Moved To Recovered Status in Last 2 Weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p id=\"block-8357983d-5fec-4040-bb13-4b6e66d3fb00\"><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59982&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-199e0877-f477-4890-8327-3df3e57e4c52\">FRAMINGHAM \u2013 The City of Framingham announced 3 individuals in the community have tested positive for COVID-19 cases since Monday, June 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e242e96e-c22a-4615-a1a7-4a33581d34fe\">Since the pandemic, there have been 250 deaths, as the City announced a new death today, June 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today the City reported 96 individuals have recovered from the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-fa4b98dd-96b5-47ce-b465-3327b8e1683d\">Active cases in the City of Framingham decreased significantly since Monday, May 24 from 1,511 to 345 today, June 9, after <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/25\/framingham-reporting-15-of-active-covid-cases-in-massachusetts-number-is-likely-not-accurate\/\">SOURCE questioned the City&#8217;s numbers last week.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-795d21d8-fe4d-453c-aae3-98faaaebdf86\">That is a 1,166 drop from active cases in about 2 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1f56d8a2-85bf-4adc-b504-c3f5b5ff07fc\">The Massachusetts Department of Public Health defines an active case as a positive case, confirmed by a test, within the last 21 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-40ed41c0-5ccd-4d7c-a5cd-9d22785a30ff\">Today&#8217;s release by the City of Framingham on COVID numbers notes &#8220;The City\u2019s COVID team is working in the State\u2019s data system to move lapsed or pending cases into the correct status.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-40ed41c0-5ccd-4d7c-a5cd-9d22785a30ff\"><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59948&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b1327f58-7c47-4914-afbc-1edb7216cac3\">Individuals the City of Framingham is following in quarantine dropped from 499 to 484.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-402d7147-4e0f-4d11-96e3-f490ecfcf07d\">Framingham has had a total of 8,340 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Framingham has about 74,500 residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-9332fc28-02b4-4719-8d7d-24cbd6d198c1\">That means more than 11% of the City has been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the pandemic began in March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-67e3b02c-42e4-43d4-9e01-d47270c8c149\"><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59982&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d0069704-e6e9-4c04-b404-0a8a14f9dae5\">With the new updated numbers released today, the City of Framingham is now reporting 7,745 individuals have <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2020\/10\/12\/how-does-framingham-determine-someone-has-recovered-from-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recovered<\/a><\/strong> from the coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d89ccc08-7e1a-49f3-8341-aa65dbbb626f\">DePalo told SOURCE \u201ccases are moved into a Recovered status when the individual has completed isolation and is not experiencing any COVID symptoms (including fever without a fever-reducing medication).&nbsp; Isolation is a minimum of 10 days however it can be longer if symptoms persist or if the individual becomes severely ill.&nbsp; It is a case by case determination.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-3dd0f439-57af-4a1b-9428-a110889c3e65\"><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59947&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-05dd3f24-9177-4b84-a456-5623b38c2300\">As of April 19, the general <a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/03\/17\/baker-polito-administration-public-can-get-vaccine-starting-april-19\/\">public, age 16 and older became eligible for the vaccine.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-9ccd0510-4771-4f86-8d0f-092b9eb53b4b\">The FDA &amp; the CDC approved Pfizer&#8217;s vaccine for individuals age 12 and older last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b93be791-9a82-414a-95ba-77828520b041\">The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is hosting a free COVID-19 testing site, run by Project Beacon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-755a3536-9757-4f7c-8dc4-6dd541a1c1b0\">The site is located at 123 Maple Street in a parking lot owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/05\/project-beacons-free-covid-testing-site-to-open-at-framingham-state-may-7\/\">Framingham State University.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"block-d772b264-7792-4cd4-84b3-5ec3eae925c4\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/apartments.source.house_.ad_.march_.2021.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is apartments.source.house_.ad_.march_.2021.png\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59982&#8243;] FRAMINGHAM \u2013 The City of Framingham announced 3 individuals in the community have tested positive for COVID-19 cases since Monday, June 7.
