FRAMINGHAM – The Flyers boys lacrosse team won today, June 3, on the road against the Warriors of Brookline High. The final score was 13-1 Framingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Brady Morgan had 8 saves in net for the Flyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up for the Flyers is a game against the Wildcats of Weymouth on Monday, June 7 at Phil Read Field. The winner will qualify for the MIAA state tourney. Before the game, seniors on the team will be honored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Brookline struck first and scored its lone goal to take a 1-0 lead. Butr Framingham’s defense shut the Warriors down for the rest of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Flyers scored 6 goals in the first to have a 6-1 lead after one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joey Ferrante started our\u00a0first quarter run assisted by Darren Palma, said head coach AJ Mulvey. Tommy Duane scored next assisted by Billy Neiberger. Then Neiberger scored unassisted. Joey Ferrante scored the fourth goal from Sean Clark. Then Darren Palma would score two more goals both assisted by Davin Nichols, said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second quarter, Nichols kept our run going, scoring a few minutes into the second quarter, said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnny Yerardi scored next assisted Duane, then Duane from Yerardi. and Joey Ferrante from Pete Sinesi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justin Nichols assisted by Tommy Duane. Then Billy Neiberger from Noah Pearlman. Joey Ferrante from Darren Palma to make it 13-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrante and Shea Callahan won every face off helping us dominate the time of possession, said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was a much needed win after we are coming off two tough losses to Needham and Wellesley last week,” said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We started slow but once we woke up we executed and ended up with 13 points by 9 players – a great\u00a0 example of unselfish lacrosse,” said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’ve made some adjustments moving players around and continue to get better. We are really starting to click as a team and have great energy. We will enjoy the win but have already shifted our focus to Weymouth,” said Mulvey. “We have to beat Weymouth on Monday to qualify for the state tournament and that’s exactly what we plan on doing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are all excited to get back to practice and game plan for Weymouth. It also looks like we will get a rematch with Needham on Tuesday in the first round of the Bay State Conference Tournament,” said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second round, if the Flyers advance is Thursday, with the Bay State Championship on Monday June 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
