FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public School District reported two new COVID cases over the holiday weekend, when it updated its COVID-19 dashboard this morning, June 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the latest update on the dashboard, the district has had a total of 184 cases this 2020-21 academic school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The district does not list if cases are teachers, staff, or students in the dashboard, or when the district sends emails to staff or families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest cases were reported at Potter Road Elementary on May 29 and Brophy Elementary on May 30<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Framingham High leads the district with 47 cases this school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuller Middle, along with McCarthy Elementary School, both on Flagg Drive, each have 13 cases this school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unless a family chose to stay remote, all students K-12 are full-time in-person learning, for the rest of the school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DESE announced last month all school would be in-person for the 2021-2022 school year, unless a district applies for a waiver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Framingham Public School district has been conducting PCR testing for staff. The District said 99% of teachers are in-person full-time.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students are being testing via pooled testing. Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay announced April 28, the participating rate in the free COVID-19 pooled testing, has increased to 70% at the elementary level.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tremblay told the School Committee district-wide the rate is about 60%, as the participation rate in the secondary levels (middle and high) is only at about 50%<\/a><\/strong>. Participation is voluntary in the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only students who are part of the in-person or hybrid learning can participate in the pooled testing. Remote students do not participate in pooled testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In mid-March, only 46% of students <\/a><\/strong>were participating in the district\u2019s pooled testing program to identify COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
