FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys lacrosse team, coming off a strong victory over Catholic Memorial over the weekend<\/a><\/strong>, lost to the Tigers of Newton North today, May 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers clawed out a 10-9 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Flyers are now 3-2, 2-2 in the Bay State Conference, under head coach AJ Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was a heartbreaking loss as time ran out on us as our boys were rallying with three straight goals late in the 4th quarter,” said Mulvey. “But you have to give credit to Newton North and Coach Nick Pfeifer, they are a great team and well-coached.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is “obviously, not the result we wanted, but we battled back and forth with a great team right down to the end,” said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Six players tallying 9 goals is another game reflecting our unselfish team offense,” said Mulvey “We played some great lacrosse and are getting better each day. We will get back to work today as we prepare to host Walpole on Thursday.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Defensive midfield specialist Noah Pearlman went coast to coast to score our first goal on a fast break goal unassisted, said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after, Newton North’s Chris Claflin would tie it up, 1-1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Then Tommy Duane would score two quick goals, second assisted by Joey Ferrante, to make it 3-1, said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton’s senior captain Henry Love would score late in the 1st quarter, making it 3-2.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton went on a three-goal run in the second quarter with Claflin, then Max Ranta, and Claflin scoring making it 5-3 Tigers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Billy Neiberger would break the Newton run scoring to make it 5-4,” said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was followed by another Newton 3-point run, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love scored late in the second, followed by Ranta & Brock Busa adding two more in the 3rd quarter, making it 8-4 Newton North.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Neiberger would answer again, assisted by Davin Nichols to make it 8-5,” said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton’s Charlie Mansfield would score to make it 9-5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Senior captain Darren Palma would answer stinging the top right corner with the assist from senior captain Sean Clark,” and it was now 9-6 Tigers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton’s captain Love would score once more making it 10-6. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clark would score from an assist from senior captain defenseman Jared Shimelman to cut the lead to 3 again – 10-7 Tigers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Then Mason Moy scored assisted by Pete Sinesi and it was a two-goal game at 10-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Senior captains would add one more this time Palma assisting Clark for a late 4th quarter goal making it 10-9,” said Mulvey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the Flyers could not tie it up before time ran out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle Patriarca had 5 saves in the first half. Brady Morgan also had 5 saves in the 2nd half.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
