FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham updated its vaccination numbers this week, after the SOURCE pointed out they were off by 15,300 individuals last week.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Health Department has corrected data regarding the numbers of those vaccinated in the City. The Department did not realize that the count of “individuals with at least one dose” included the “partially vaccinated individuals.” The data has been corrected as of this week’s report. The number of residents “fully vaccinated” was not impacted by the error,” announced the City in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news outlet suggested the City change its reporting of one dose and two dose vaccines to partially and fully vaccinated, which it did this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, May 12, the City of Framingham said 27,964 individuals are fully vaccinated. That is up from 24,964 individuals last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With about 75,000 individuals in the City of Framingham, that means 37.3% percent of the City is vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That means about out out of every 3 residents in Framingham are fully vaccinated, as of May 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City also announced that 15,796 individuals are partially vaccinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, the City of Framingham also announced 55,564 individuals in the City of Framingham have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FDA has approved for emergency use a Moderna and a Pfizer vaccine that requires two doses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pfizer has been approved for those individuals age 12 and older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of February, the FDA approved for emergency use a single dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individuals are fully vaccinated after 14 days from either the two-dose or the one-dose vaccine, according to the Centers for Disease Control.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Framingham is one of 20 communities where the Commonwealth is providing assistance to help with vaccine equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City has a vaccine equity working group.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Framingham has been holding private clinics with partner organizations, like the Pelham Lifelong Learning Center <\/a><\/strong>and the Brazilian American Center, as part of the vaccine equity rollout on March 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
