BOSTON – Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced a new COVID vaccine plan today, which makes most of the essential workers, some who have not worked form home and continued to work throughout the pandemic, finally eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting March 22, seniors age 60 and older and workers listed below are eligible for the vaccine in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workers in the following categories will be eligible as part of this group. This group becomes eligible March 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restaurant or cafe workers<\/td>Cooks, servers, maintenance staff, managers, cashiers<\/td><\/tr>
Food, meatpacking, beverage, agriculture, consumer goods, retail, or food service workers<\/td>All staff involved in the production, processing, storage, transport, wholesale and retail sale, preparation, and service of food and consumer goods, including farm and other agricultural workers, including farm stand and nurseries<\/td><\/tr>
Grocery and convenience store workers<\/td>Cashiers, baggers, stockers, managers, maintenance staff, security staff<\/td><\/tr>
Food pantry workers or volunteers<\/td> <\/td><\/tr>
Medical supply chain workers<\/td>Workers directly involved in the manufacturing and production, packaging, transport, quality control, and sale of materials critical to the delivery of medical care<\/td><\/tr>
Vaccine development workers<\/td>Workers directly involved in research, development, manufacturing and production, packaging, transport, quality control, and sale of vaccines (COVID-19 and others)<\/td><\/tr>
Transit\/transportation workers<\/td>Drivers\/operators, attendants, sales, administrators, maintenance staff, public and private bus, train\/subway, passenger boat\/ferries,  passenger air, and automobile (including rental car, car service\/limousine, taxi, and ride apps) transportation, bridge and road construction and maintenance workers, shipping port and terminal workers, commercial transportation<\/td><\/tr>
Public works, water, wastewater, or utility workers<\/td>Utility: Electrical generation and supply system, natural gas delivery, nuclear power plant, water supply, telephone, cable\/fiber optical\/broadband\/cellular service workers  Public works including street repair, street lighting,  public park, beach, and trail maintenance workers.<\/td><\/tr>
Sanitation workers<\/td>Drivers, solid waste handlers, recycling staff, street cleaners, sewer and storm water system workers<\/td><\/tr>
Public health workers<\/td>Public-facing federal, state, and local governmental public health workers<\/td><\/tr>
Court system worker (judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, clerks), other than court officers who are listed under first responders<\/td>Criminal court workers, including judges, prosecutors, public defenders, private defense attorneys, clerks, maintenance workers<\/td><\/tr>
Funeral directors and  funeral workers<\/td>Funeral directors\/morticians, other funeral workers (funeral home staff, drivers, maintenance workers, cemetery workers, funeral cosmetology workers)<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
