{"id":30421,"date":"2021-03-01T12:25:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-01T17:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/?p=30421"},"modified":"2021-03-01T12:43:01","modified_gmt":"2021-03-01T17:43:01","slug":"wonderscapes-suspended-landscapes-opening-at-danforth-art-museum-in-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/03\/01\/wonderscapes-suspended-landscapes-opening-at-danforth-art-museum-in-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Wonderscapes &#038; Suspended Landscapes Opening at Danforth Art Museum in March"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"471\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/arts.source.house_.ad_.virtual.2020.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/arts.source.house_.ad_.virtual.2020.png 471w, https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/arts.source.house_.ad_.virtual.2020-221x300.png 221w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 471px) 100vw, 471px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FRAMINGHAM \u2013 A multimedia exhibition called <em>Wonderscape<\/em>, featuring the work of five artists, and a painting exhibition from Lori Schouela called <em>Suspended Landscapes <\/em>will go on view at Framingham State University\u2019s Danforth Art Museum starting March 20th as part of the Museum\u2019s spring exhibition series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to invite the community to come see two excellent new exhibitions, which provide a sense of escapism during these anxious times\u201d said Danforth Art Museum Director and Curator Jessica Roscio. \u201cAnyone seeking a safe, quiet, and in-person museum experience won\u2019t want to miss out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wonderscapes features the work of artists Adria Arch, Dana Filibert, Nancy Hayes, Alyssa Minahan, and Neil Wilkins and will be on view from March 20 through September 12, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;53130&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59945&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using circles, organic forms, and undefined borders, five artists working across media create their own wonderscapes.\u00a0 They use the tactile nature of their materials to convey hazy, stream-of-consciousness, otherworldly dreamscapes based in reality but largely products of the mind.\u00a0 In focusing on elemental forms, each of these artists crafts their own narratives about time and space and the ways in which we visualize, cope, and move through our own wonderscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lori Schouela\u2019s paintings of mysterious landscapes in \u201cSuspended Landscapes,\u201d will be on display from March 20 through September 12, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schouela\u2019s paintings have a mystical quality to them\u2013through subject, materials, and process, they become otherworldly, noted the museum in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In her paintings we step into a fantastical, yet mysterious, landscape. Surfaces are lush with glossy pools of color, paths, and machines that hover in mid-air. Her paintings walk the line between an escapist fantasy and a dark warning of future chaos.
