{"id":29772,"date":"2021-02-21T23:57:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-22T04:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/?p=29772"},"modified":"2021-02-22T08:04:47","modified_gmt":"2021-02-22T13:04:47","slug":"renaissance-medical-group-offering-vaccine-assistance-to-latinx-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/02\/21\/renaissance-medical-group-offering-vaccine-assistance-to-latinx-members\/","title":{"rendered":"Renaissance Medical Group Offering Vaccine Assistance To Latinx Members"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>The following is a press release submitted to SOURCE media on Sunday night<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>***<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59948&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SOUTHBRIDGE &#8211; On Monday, February 22, Renaissance Medical Group (RMG) will begin offering one-on-one vaccine registration assistance to RMG patients and adult day health care members at the RMG Center for Health and Wellness &#8211; Southbridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Latino community and Spanish speakers will work directly with patients and members to explain the benefits of vaccination, identify<br>vaccination appointment availability and complete appointment registrations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the only Latino owned and operated medical group in Central MA, RMG is uniquely poised to help a community that has seen one of the highest infection rates, yet lowest vaccinations rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recent data from the Kaiser Family Foundation highlights the largely disproportionate share of eligible Latinos registering and receiving COVID-19 vaccines, with non-Hispanic whites accounting for 81% of vaccines administered in Massachusetts, compared to only 5% of Hispanics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"523\" height=\"639\" src=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/insurance.house_.ad_.source.2020.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/insurance.house_.ad_.source.2020.png 523w, https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/insurance.house_.ad_.source.2020-246x300.png 246w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 523px) 100vw, 523px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> The Centers for Disease Control attributes this gap to language and technology barriers, as well as accessibility to medical facilities and vaccination sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the weekend, MA state legislators including Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, State Rep. Nika Elugardo joined a roundtable hosted by Sen. Ed Markey to discuss the importance of improving access and distribution of the vaccine to underserved and communities of color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59984&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> In response to that dialogue, Jesus Suarez, CEO of RMG, said \u201cWe appreciate Sen.
