FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools announced the return of Phase III students to the classrooms after February break. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This would be the first time some of these students would have the opportunity to be in their physical classrooms since March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are very excited to be welcoming our students back to their classrooms. As a priority student, your child will attend school every day in-person starting on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Transportation information will be shared with you in the coming days. If you have any questions, please communicate with your child’s principal,” said the email to parents tonight, February 11, about Phase III students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase IV students are targeted for March 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“<\/strong>When your child returns to school, we will be using MyMedBot as a daily symptom checker. You will receive instructions on how to use the app when the system is ready. When you receive the instructions, you can download the app on your phone or use your child’s Chromebook, sign-up with a special invitation code that we will send you, and answer questions in the app each day that your child is scheduled to attend school . More information will follow shortly.  Thank you for your patience, understanding, and collaboration,” announced the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Framingham Public School district was deemed a yellow district by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state is reporting on average 32.2 cases per COVID per day per 100,000 individuals over the last 2 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City’s positivity rate has fallen below 4% to 3.79%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teachers reported back to their classrooms on Monday. February 1.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students returned to the classrooms for the first time in 2021, last Thursday, February 4. Those students are phase 1 & 2 students, the district\u2019s highest needs students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most K-12 students have not been in their classroom since mid-March 2020, when the pandemic began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October, phase 1, or the district\u2019s highest needs students return to the classrooms. In November, phase II, of the district\u2019s high need students returned to the classrooms. The majority of the students about 8,500 of the district\u2019s 9,000+ students were still learning remotely at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Thanksgiving, and a second surge of the coronavirus, the City of Framingham and the school district decided to make the entire district remote as of December 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
