{"id":28055,"date":"2021-01-31T11:45:57","date_gmt":"2021-01-31T16:45:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/?p=28055"},"modified":"2021-01-31T11:48:36","modified_gmt":"2021-01-31T16:48:36","slug":"spicer-administration-issues-statement-on-framingham-covid-19-vaccine-clinic-registration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/31\/spicer-administration-issues-statement-on-framingham-covid-19-vaccine-clinic-registration\/","title":{"rendered":"Spicer Administration Issues Statement on Framingham COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Registration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>The following is a press release from the Spicer administration.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>***<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59945&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FRAMINGHAM &#8211; On Saturday, January 30, the City disqualified ineligible registrants from the February 6 Vaccine Clinic at Keefe Technical High School (individuals younger than 75 or who are not residents of Framingham). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simultaneously, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/30\/150-vaccine-clinic-spots-open-at-keefe-city-of-framingham-says-nothing-2021\/\">State\u2019s Vaccine Portal released the appointments<\/a><\/strong> and notified the first group on the waitlist that there were available appointments on the website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/framinghamsource.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/30\/150-vaccine-clinic-spots-open-at-keefe-city-of-framingham-says-nothing-2021\/\">Editor&#8217;s note: 150+ appointments became available on Saturday.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The February 6 COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic will still vaccinate 300 Framingham residents who are 75 years or older. No new appointments have been added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSaturday\u2019s events confused many residents, which I know is extremely frustrating,\u201d said Interim Health Department Director Alexandra DePalo. \u201cEveryone, including the State and Framingham, is doing our best to get people vaccinated as quickly as possible. We understand how hard it is to find an appointment when the demand is so high, and the amount of vaccine is so limited. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to high demand and a constrained supply at the State and Federal level, Framingham\u2019s ability to provide vaccines to residents is limited. This may change in the coming weeks, and the City is monitoring the latest information to respond to residents responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[broadstreet zone=&#8221;59948&#8243;]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents who are currently eligible for the vaccine and are able to travel can also seek out appointments at mass vaccination sites or through hospital systems. Residents who have a primary care doctor should contact them and learn if they plan to offer the vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Framingham\u2019s Public Health Department is currently planning future vaccine clinics for residents who are aged 75 and older. Each week the City will learn how many vaccines are available for upcoming clinics, and that number may change over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the large number of registrations and the limited availability of the vaccine, this process will be ongoing. The City recommends that people regularly check the State\u2019s website for availability.
