FRAMINGHAM – Massachusetts\u2019s\u00a0average gas price is up two cents from last week\u00a0($2.08)<\/em>, averaging\u00a0$2.10\u00a0per gallon, according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s price is 3 cents higher than a month ago\u00a0($2.07)<\/em>, and 46 cents cheaper than December 7, 2019 ($2.56)<\/em>. Massachusetts\u2019s average gas price is 6 cents lower than the national average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith travel down, it\u2019s no surprise that we saw the lowest Thanksgiving demand for fuel since 1997,\u201d said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director of Public and Government Affairs, in a press release. \u201cBut robust gains in crude oil prices and the OPEC decision to increase production next year combined to boost prices 2 to 12 cents in a number of states.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AAA Northeast\u2019s December 7 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be 4 cents higher than last week\u00a0($2.12)<\/em>, averaging\u00a0<\/strong>$2.16\u00a0<\/strong>a gallon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s national average price is 5 cents higher than a month ago\u00a0($2.11)<\/em>, and 42 cents cheaper than this day last year\u00a0($2.58)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
